James Usher: The Principles of Christian Religion; with a large
body of divinity, methodically and familiarly handled, London, 1678.
Contemporary leather. This is the 7th edition; first edition was 1645.
It includes Immanuel, which apparently was often omitted in
the various editions, and some twenty sermons, in addition to the principal
text. Usher was Professor of Divinity, Trinity College, 1607, and the
Archbishop of Armagh, 1625. He was Chaplain to Charles I, and he was the
one who calculated the world was created in 4004 BC. Recently
