Lectures are on Saturdays or Sundays, beginning at 3 p.m., and are followed by refreshments. There is no charge and all are welcome, although seating is limited. Given weather and illnesses, please call to confirm date and topic.

For the first time in 7 years we are sorry to announce that one of our lectures has to be cancelled.  The March 14, 2010 lecture by Rob Conklin will not be held due to conflicts in Mr. Conklin's schedule.  Because of the interest shown in this lecture, we will try to reschedule it for later in the year.

April 18, 2010 (Sunday): Deirdre Larkin; The Cloisters' Horticulturist will speak on The Medieval Calendar Year: Labors of the Month.

The Book Village is changing and growing!

Blenheim Hill Books is under new ownership. Barbara and Cheryl (Deans at Rutgers University) have expanded the history and poetry sections and will be adding African-American and Women’ Studies sections.

Liberty Rock Books, owned and operated by Jim, John & Tom (librarian, graphic artist, and Hospice chaplain) is in the process of purchasing a large building on Main Street. Once relocated (late Spring/early Summer ) they will be able to display more of their 85,000 books. Until then, they remain in their space next to Blenheim Hill but now have 3 times as many books on their shelves. After they move, Blenheim will be expanding into Liberty Rock’s space.

Elda (former Ambassador and private pilot) at the Hobart International Bookport continues to specialize in current European authors and has also expanded her aircraft section.

Don (pianist and furniture restorer) will be opening his new shop "Mysteries & More" on Main Street in Spring.

We, Bill and Diana Adams (physician and attorney), hope by Spring or Summer to expand our shop by opening the basement and filling it with books.

David Pryor-Johnson continues to sell a select group of signed modern first editions and antiquarian books from shelves at Adams’ Book Shop.

Hatherleigh Press recently relocated to Hobart. Visit them at www.hatherleighpress.com

The Hobart Inn (formerly Leo’s Pizza) is under new ownership and has been renovated. It is now open for lunch and dinner 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays). Check their website at www.hobartinn.com
